Since when did DA not allow CMYK JPEGs?
anyway, just playing about with the brushes. not sure if i like the texture in the hair. used a pencil looking brush for the lines to give it a "softer" feel. downloaded the brush from here. not sure which one i used tho, if i figure it out i'll post a link.

I think it's come across looking too soft. Although I think that could be because there's not enough contrast between the different shades of colour in her hair, it looks a bit too blended almost. ?
Also, I like her face.

looking at her im going with "the colouring looks too flat" which is probally caused my the softness.
i always have problems having my characters looking out at the viewer. makes me kinda un-easy. like they're judging me.

It's because she isn't happy with her flat hair...

ha. i did experiment with more realistic 3d hair but it never looked right on a cartoon-ish character. still trying to find the balance.
